Healthy Living Through Massage, Facial Make-Up and Nail Enhancement

Having an attractive set of nails is something most ladies would love to have. But don't worry if you're not born with beautiful, healthy nails. Nail spas and nail salons offer exciting acrylic nail tips to anyone interested. If you've never had your nails done before, the concept of artificial nails is new. It's good to do research before deciding on what kind of nails you desire. Acrylic nail tips are fairly common, and most nail technician's have already perfected the skill.

Nail tips are pre-cut pieces of plastic that nail technicians use to create false nails. They are normally either clear or white in color. They are unusually long for most women, and need to be cut down by the technician. Acrylic is a man-made chemical that comes in powder and liquid form for nails. The powder is mixed with liquid acrylic and brushed over the top of the natural fingernail. This blends the line between the nail tip and natural nail.

The success of a great massage lies in relaxing the body, mind and spirit. All you need to give a good massage is several basic massage therapy techniques. When using any form of massage it is important to remember a few golden rules. First, always use the maxim if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Encourage plenty of feedback from your client; ask them if the pressure feels comfortable. Secondly, always make sure that you avoid working directly on any joint or bony prominences. This includes the spine and the shoulder joint area. Thirdly, there are a few conditions when techniques of massage should not be used (we refer to these as contraindications). These include any open wound, broken or inflamed skin, any infectious disease or skin condition, if they have a fever, if there are any recent injuries or surgeries. There are some conditions that can be treated by massage therapy techniques but a qualified practitioner should be sought.
